You’re invited to 404 Media’s first anniversary party!
It’s almost been a whole year since we launched 404 Media. In that time, we’ve done so much with your support.
We’ve broken some of the biggest tech stories of the year, including an investigation into a privacy issue with a feature in the New York subway which the MTA shut down in response, uncovering an AI harassment Telegram group which resulted in Microsoft closing a major abuse loophole, and right to repair coverage that’s contributed to California passing legislation to empower people to fix their own electronics.
We’re just getting started, and to celebrate and say THANK YOU to subscribers, we’re ready to party. Meet us at The Woods in Brooklyn on Sept. 5 from 6-9 p.m. for drinks on us (let me repeat that: it’s an open bar). We’ll have merch on hand to purchase, too.
Paid subscribers get a promo code sent to their email that's at the bottom of this post to get on the guest list for free (snag your tix using the same email you subscribed with please!), and entry is $30 for everyone else. As a reminder, it’s just $10 a month to become a supporter.
If getting on the list at the hottest event of the year and hanging out with us isn’t enough, as a subscriber you also get:
- Unlimited access to our articles, ad-free
- Commenting privileges on the site, the best of which we publish in our newsletter and respond to on a subscribers-only podcast
- Access to "Behind The Blog" content where we write about how we reported our stories
- Ad-free version of our weekly podcast
- Bonus podcast content every week as well as other bonus episodes
- Access to “404 FOIA Forum,” a community where we listen to your Freedom of Information Act ideas, and teach you how to file effective requests. We have one of these coming up next week!
It’s a deal if you ask me. If you have questions or suggestions, just reply to this email. By the way, this event is made possible with the support of our friends at Codeword.
We can’t wait to see you on Sept. 5!
