Amazon Sold Fake Copies of Hotly Anticipated UFO Book

The entire UFO enthusiast community is currently waiting for the release of Imminent: Inside the Pentagon’s Hunt for UFOs by Luis Elizondo. There are thousands of UFO books on Amazon, but believers are especially interested in Imminent because Elizondo is a 20-year military veteran who worked at the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), and a key figure in the renewed interest and credulity around unidentified aerial phenomena for the last few years.

Some people who bought his book on Amazon were probably thrilled to get a copy of it recently, way ahead of its official August release, only to crack it open and immediately understand that the book is fake and that they fell victim to a shameless scam.

On Twitter and Reddit, users are posting photographs of books with the same cover as Imminent, including Elizondo’s name as the author, and at first glance what seems like an identical title. Inside, however, is poorly written text that reads like it was copy/pasted from Wikipedia, two inch margins, huge font like a children's book, and, at least according to one photograph, blank pages.
