On Sunday, Trump posted four screenshots of other people’s Truth Social posts showing AI-generated images of women wearing “Swifties for Trump” t-shirts (which do exist in real life). One of the images is an AI-generated Swift in an Uncle Sam-style outfit, with the text “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.”
Trump captioned his post, “I accept!”
It’s not clear whether Trump knows these images are fake, or if he, like many of his generation, is falling for fake AI-generated images on social media and believes they’re real. One of the screenshots shows a “SATIRE” tag. But under a recently-enacted Tennessee law, these images could be illegal.
