A Polish game development studio has started a firestorm after posting a job listing for an art director that listed “attending sauna sessions (non negotiable),” as one of the job requirements; the game’s developer has since doubled and tripled down on this requirement and noted that the sauna sessions should be nude because wearing a towel “may result with fungal infection.” The saga has started a larger conversation about working conditions in the games industry, which has been racked with layoffs, studios folding without paying people, and jobs with very questionable working conditions.
